Walter T. Rueff, Ph.D.

CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST & OWNER

Dr. Rueff is a native Jacksonian and graduate of St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Ridgeland, MS. He graduated with honors from Millsaps College, earning a BS in psychology and human services and the Gordon Alport Award for Psychology. Dr. Rueff earned his M.A. and Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Mississippi in Oxford. He completed internship at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN, where he specialized in adult psychotherapy, forensic psychology, and interventions and assessments for chronic pain. After his doctoral training, Dr. Rueff completed a clinical psychology fellowship in interdisciplinary mental health at the Alvin C. York VA Medical Center in Murfreesboro, TN.

Dr. Rueff has expertise in treating and assessing a broad variety of mental health issues. His practice focuses primarily on treating anxiety and trauma-related disorders, including Generalized Anxiety, Specific Phobia, OCD, Panic Disorder, and PTSD, utilizing an empirically-informed cognitive behavioral orientation (CBT). He has specialized training in multiple evidence based psychotherapies (EBPs) such as Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Prolonged Exposure, Exposure and Response Prevention, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Depression, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. He also has expertise with various assessment needs, including psychoeducational (ADHD, Learning Disability, Giftedness/IQ, testing accommodations), neurodevelopmental (Autism Spectrum Disorder, and intellectual functioning/disability), pre-procedure (spinal cord stimulator, bariatric surgery), and specialized personality and forensic evaluations.

Outside of work, Dr. Rueff enjoys spending time with family and friends, preferably outdoors and cooking something.

Dr. Rueff is licensed in Mississippi and authorized through PSYPACT to practice telepsychology in all participating states. Dr. Rueff is accepting new patients for psychotherapy and psychological assessment.
